स्वतंत्रता दिवस के अवसर पर ऐतिहासिक लाल किले पर आयोजित होने वाले समारोह में पहली बार ‘वंदे मातरम्' गाया गया. राष्ट्रीय गीत ‘वंदे मातरम्' की विरासत के 150 वर्ष पूरे होने के उपलक्ष्य में आयोजित इस भव्य समारोह में लाल किले की प्राचीर पर की गई पुष्प सज्जा के केंद्र में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज और उसके दोनों ओर हिंदी में ‘वंदे मातरम्' लिखा हुआ था... समारोह में मौजूद अतिथियों के साथ सेना के बैंड ने ‘वंदे मातरम्' की धुन बजाई और सभी ने राष्ट्रीय गीत गाया.
'Vande Mataram' was sung for the first time at the ceremony held at the historic Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. In this grand event, organized to mark the completion of 150 years of the national song 'Vande Mataram's' legacy, the national flag formed the centerpiece of the floral decorations on the ramparts of the Red Fort, flanked on both sides by the words 'Vande Mataram' written in Hindi... The Army band played the tune of 'Vande Mataram' alongside the guests present at the ceremony, and everyone sang the national song.
